Energy Audits
A home energy audit is the first step in learning how you can greatly improve your home’s energy efficiency and save you money on your energy bills. An energy audit can provide you with a clear picture of how your household consumes energy. This knowledge and our advice will allow you to find the best ways to improve your home’s energy efficiency. This energy audit is designed to make our customers’ homes more energy-efficient and comfortable.
What is an Energy Audit?
Energy Audits are a comprehensive assessment that pinpoints specific energy inefficiencies and health problems in the home and identifies efficiency improvement opportunities.
What to expect during an energy audit:
-Inspecting the thermal barrier of the home.
-Inspecting the heat, cooling and water heater equipment.
-Inspecting the heating and cooling distribution.
-Performing a blower door test to determine the rate of air leakage in your home.
-Infrared camera testing to assess insulation and find air leaks.
-Safety testing to ensure there are no gas leaks or carbon monoxide issues.
-Inspecting the ventilation for indoor air quality issues.
Our inspection, test results, and improvement recommendations are inputted into EmPOWER MD’S auditing software and compiled into EmPOWER MD’s Audit Reports. The reports will show your home’s current performance, projected performance with our recommendations, and projected savings. It will also show projected rebates from doing the recommendations.
What does it cost?
-Energy Audits are valued at $400. EmPOWER MD has a 75% instant rebate on audits, so it would be only $100 at the time of your audit. Additional fees may apply if your home is larger than 3,000 square feet, has more than one combustion system or is subject to specialty services from the contractor.
